Background of the Study
Budgeting is a critical practice for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), as it helps ensure effective financial planning, resource allocation, and cost control. In Minna LGA, many SMEs face challenges in financial management, which can hinder their growth and sustainability. This study will assess the effectiveness of budgeting practices in promoting the growth of SMEs in Minna LGA.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the critical role of budgeting in business success, many SMEs in Minna LGA struggle with improper budgeting, lack of financial planning, and insufficient resource allocation. This leads to inefficient operations and hinders their growth. This study aims to evaluate the role of budgeting practices in promoting the growth of SMEs in Minna LGA.

Research Hypothesis
- H₀: Budgeting practices do not significantly contribute to the growth of SMEs in Minna LGA.
- H₀: There is no significant relationship between budgeting practices and SME growth in Minna LGA.
- H₀: Challenges in implementing budgeting practices do not significantly hinder SME growth in Minna LGA.
